Combie

Privacy Policy

Combie is a dog-training app made by Cozy Abode LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect when you use the Combie app, why, who helps us run it, and the choices you have. We wrote it to match what the app actually does. If the app changes what it collects, we change this policy first.

The short version

What we collect

Your account. Your email address and a password (stored only in scrambled, "hashed" form), or the sign-in details Apple or Google give us if you sign in with them. With Sign in with Apple, you can hide your real email address; we then only see the private relay address Apple creates. If you sign in with Apple or Google, they may also share your name, which we keep on your account. We also keep your phone's time zone, so renewal emails show the right date, and your weekly training goal.

Your dog. The name, breed and birth month you enter, and a photo if you choose to add one. The app only sees the one photo you pick; it doesn't read the rest of your photo library.

Your training records. Each practice session you log: the lesson, the place (home, yard, street or park), how many reps you tried, how many went well, how long it took, any note you add, and when. We also keep which lessons you've opened and finished.

Your Coach questions. The questions you ask the Coach and the answers it gives, how many you've asked today, and whether a question was redirected to a vet or trainer. Please don't describe your own or anyone else's injuries or health in a question or a note.

Your purchases. If you buy The Full Guide, Apple handles the payment. We never see your card or payment details. Through RevenueCat (see below) we receive what you bought, its price and currency, whether and when it renews, and events such as renewals, cancellations, billing problems and refunds. When you subscribe, we also keep a record of what you agreed to: the version of the purchase screen you saw, that you ticked the automatic-renewal box, the plan, the price shown, the app version, the time and Apple's transaction number.

What you agreed to. When you create an account, we keep which version of the Terms of Use and this policy you accepted, how and when.

Your age range. Where age laws apply, the app asks your app store (Apple, or Google on Android) whether you're 18 or older when you sign up, and again at most once a year. We use the answer only to apply our age rules and comply with the law, and we don't share it. It stays on your phone and isn't sent to us; the app keeps only the date it last checked and, if the answer was under 18, a note that stops sign-up and purchases on that phone.

Technical information. Like most online services, our servers record basic technical details when the app connects to them, such as your IP address and the time of the request. We use these to keep the service running and secure.

How you use the app (usage stats). A short list of moments, each tied to your random account number (never your email or name): finishing onboarding; starting and finishing a lesson; finishing a practice session (which lesson, the place and the share of reps that went well); a skill becoming ready for a new place; opening The Full Guide's page (and from where) and buying it (which plan); asking the Coach a question and whether it was redirected; sharing a milestone card; turning on the daily reminder; tapping cancel or requesting a refund; and deleting your account. Each comes with the app version, your phone's model and operating system, its language and time zone, and the time. These never include your dog's name, your notes, your Coach questions or answers, your email or your location. Account → Share usage stats turns them off.

Crash reports. If the app crashes or a screen fails to load, a report is sent with what went wrong in the app's code, the app version, your phone's model and operating system, and the steps the app took just before (such as which screen was open). Crash reports are not tied to your account and don't include your email, your dog's details, what you typed or your IP address.

What stays on your phone. Your daily reminder time, the reminder itself, lessons saved for offline reading, a practice session waiting to sync and similar settings are stored only on your phone. They are not sent to us.

What we don't collect. We don't collect your location, your contacts, your browsing history or your phone's advertising identifier. We don't record your screen or your taps.

How we use it

We don't use your information for advertising, and we don't sell it or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Who helps us run Combie

We share information only with the companies that run parts of the service for us, and only what each one needs. They act on our behalf (as "service providers" or "processors") and may not use it for their own purposes.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the safety of any person, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply to it.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while you have an account, except Coach history, which we keep for 24 months after you last use the Coach. When you delete your account, we delete your account, your dog's profile and photo, your training records, your Coach history, your purchase records and your reminder history from our systems straight away, and we ask RevenueCat to delete your purchase record and PostHog to delete your usage stats (PostHog finishes removing them within about a week). Crash reports aren't tied to your account, so they can't be picked out and deleted; Sentry deletes them automatically after about 30 days. Copies can remain for a short time in our providers' backups and logs (currently up to about 7 days for backups and server logs, and up to 30 days for Anthropic and for Resend's email logs) until they expire. Apple keeps its own records of your purchases.

The one exception: when you delete your account we erase your data, except a minimal purchase-and-consent record (transaction ID, product, price, date, and the version of the purchase screen shown) that we must keep for at least 3 years, or 1 year after your subscription ends if longer. It isn't linked to your email or name, and only we can see it.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live (for example, California and other U.S. states), you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete or get a copy of your personal information, and not to be treated differently for using them. We don't sell or "share" personal information as those laws define it. To use any of these rights, email support@combieapp.com. We'll verify the request comes from the account holder and answer within the time the law allows. You can also use an authorized agent. We offer these rights to every user, whether or not a law where you live requires it.

Do Not Track. Combie doesn't track you across other apps or websites, so it works the same whether or not your phone or browser sends a "Do Not Track" signal.

Children

Combie is for adults: you must be 18 or older to hold an account, and the app isn't directed to children. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, email support@combieapp.com and we'll delete it.

Security

Your information travels encrypted, each account can reach only its own data, and dog photos are stored privately and shown only through short-lived links. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and limit who can reach it.

Where your information is processed

We are based in the United States, and our providers store and process information in the United States (Anthropic may also process requests in other countries). If you use Combie from outside the United States, your information is transferred to the United States.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date below. If a change is material — for example, a new use of your data or a new company we share it with — we'll tell you in the app and by email at least 30 days before it takes effect and ask you to accept it.
